Tsubaki (つばき), full name Yasuaki Tsubaki is a character that was first featured in River City Melee: Battle Royal Special. He is the leader of the Wu Wonfu and is described as being an outspoken fighter who respects the strong and is able to admit defeat with a sense of pride. While he was born in Japan, he would be raised in China and would learn a mysterious fighting technique. Tsubaki would return to Japan during his second year of middle school.

Tsubaki debuts in River City Melee: Battle Royal Special as a captain and member of the Wu Wonfu team. When playing in Single Play, Tsubaki will appear as a member of the team and will appear as the team's captain in Free Play. He is able to use the Vacuum Tiger Paws, Tiger Tail Kick, and the Tiger Tail Fall.

Tsubaki plays the role of Fei Zhan, one of the leaders of the Shanyue bandits who are a rebel group that oppose Sun Quan (Riki)'s rule.
Fei Zhan appears as an enemy during the final chapter.
