Yōichi (よういち) is the captain of Nekketsu High School's hockey club who was first featured in Go-Go! Nekketsu Hockey Club Slip-and-Slide Madness. Yōichi is talented, though is described as being introverted and someone who is easily persuaded.

Go-Go! Nekketsu Hockey Club Slip-and-Slide Madness[]
Yōichi debuts in Go-Go! Nekketsu Hockey Club Slip-and-Slide Madness as the captain of Nekketsu High School's hockey club, though in gameplay is changed to a member when Kunio joins the team.
Yōichi first appears during the game's intro where he is sitting behind a tree and is accidentally hit by a dodgeball thrown by Kunio. Upon being hit, Kunio recognizes him as a member of the school's hockey club and talks to him, where Yōichi will then tell him while walking home that if the team loses the upcoming game against Shirogane High School, they'll be shutdown. Yōichi accepts Kunio's offer of helping them practice.
In the beginning of the story, the hockey club will face off against Kunio and the dodgeball club. Upon losing to Kunio in the practice match, Yōichi appears more upset than before and is on the verge of giving up, though Kunio knocks some sense into him and vows that he'll whip the hockey team into good shape. Yōichi later appears during the cutscene before the match against Shirogane High School, where he starts to feel nervous though is pushed on by his team to keep moving forward. Upon beating Shirogane, Yōichi informs Kunio that they're now being asked to win the nationals if they don't want the hockey club to shutdown. Kunio insists that they just keep on winning, though Yōichi doubts his abilities and thinks of it as an impossible task. Kunio gets ready to punch Yōichi again, though he holds back and just orders him to follow his lead.
Upon winning against Daisetsuzan High School in the final game, Yōichi and Kunio take their jerseys off in celebration and then go to pose for a group photo being taken by Kaori. With their victory, Yōichi and his team are aiming to participate in the world championships. Yōichi, Kunio and the rest of the hockey team will then appear in a collage of photos taken for Kaori's photo album.

Yōichi makes a cameo appearance inside of Nekketsu High School during the game's opening cutscene.
Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun Special[]
Yōichi is able to be talked to in Kabukicho and will teleport Kunio to the batting center minigame.

Yōichi appears as an unlockable character if a team that includes three of the following win in free battle:
Yōichi is able to use the Hurricane Crash and the Hurricane.
