Tex, full name Tex Swanson, is a localized version of Susumu Godai who was first featured in the North American & European versions of Downtown Nekketsu Story. In this continuity, Tex is described as being ill-tempered and is the head of the Cowboys gang. He is stronger with weapons than he is with bare hands.

River City Ransom[]
Tex debuted in the localization of Downtown Nekketsu Story as the replacement for Godai.
Tex first appears on the second floor of River City High as an optional boss fight. Upon clearing the enemies, he will greet Alex and Ryan and express his disbelief for them being able to make it so far before picking a fight with them. Upon being defeated, he admits defeat but warns the two that they won't be able to get past Randy and Andy.
River City Ransom EX[]
Tex replaces Godai in the localization of Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari EX. Although the name was changed, Tex's sprite remained unchanged from Godai.
River City: Rival Showdown[]
In the Double Dragon Duel gamemode, Tex appears as a playable character unlocked by default.
River City Ransom: Underground[]
Tex is first seen during the prologue of the game as it retells the events of River City Ransom. In the present day, Tex is contacted by Slick and is requested to work under him again, to which he accepts the offer. Tex is first mentioned by Rocko as he mistakenly assumes the protagonists are looking for him, to which they were previously unaware of who he was and now are interested in finding him. With Rocko unwilling to give any more information, Roxy informs the group back at the A&R Auto Shop that she received a tip pointing towards the sewer plant, which Alex suspects that it's Tex lurking around.
Upon arriving at the plant, Tex states that he'd willingly join Slick's gang again, but claims that he's too busy to do so before he attempts to run away. Once caught, he claims that things would've ended different if he were holding a weapon. He then informs the group that they'll find what they're looking for on the rooftop, though doesn't disclose anything further.
River City Girls 2[]
Tex makes a cameo appearance during the River City Ransom stage in Tsuiko's boss fight. Clones of him appear inside of the W. S. L. Co. Warehouse and will attack the player.

- In River City Ransom: Underground, Tex would be given his full name of Tex Swanson. This combines Godai's two localized names.
