Tōru (とおる) is a student at Nekketsu High School who was first featured in Go-Go! Nekketsu Hockey Club Slip-and-Slide Madness. He is a member of his school's kendo club and is a friend of Kunio. He is described as being a quiet person who is able to lead his team calmly and had earned the title of being the national champion in kendo twice. Tōru's lack of words has made him popular among the girls.[1]

Tōru debuts in Go-Go! Nekketsu Hockey Club Slip-and-Slide Madness as the captain of Nekketsu High School's kendo team. Like his teammates, Tōru is unable to use super shots and instead is able to use a Shock Wave attack with his bamboo stick.
River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~[]
Tōru appears as a character unlocked by winning a game with Kojirō Murasaki as the team's captain in free battle. Tōru is able to use the Mach Bash.
River City Melee Mach!![]
Tōru appears as a Team Edit character that can be unlocked by completing a game in Single Play with Hanazono High School, Yurigaoka Girls High School, and the Cheerleader team. Tōru is able to use the Vacuum Cut, Brain Strike, and the High Speed Swing.
