Sentinel, also known as William is a minor character featured in River City Ransom: Underground. He is one of Dr. D's many clones and was the boyfriend of Cyndi.
Background[]
In the story mode, Sentinel is first seen at Cyndi's house under the name William where Cyndi will briefly introduce him as her boyfriend. Cyndi will ask the protagonists to grab some milk for William's protein shakes while they're there, to which William spouts that he's got to stay fit. After returning from the confrontation with Merv, the protagonists will describe how chaotic and bizarre everything going on in town is to Cyndi, to which she will begin indirectly describing oddities she's noticed in William ever since they met. She mentions how she's always had a hunch something was wrong with him, to which Sentinel immediately explodes afterwards. Unphased, Cyndi continues the conversation and describes how William would always wander around for no reason at random and would have to be picked up by her near the Riverside Bridge in the middle of the night.
Sentinel is able to be fought if he is attacked while he is still alive. Defeating him will unlock him for use in the game's arena mode. In the arena mode, Sentinel sports a moveset directly taken from Nekketsu Renegade Kunio-kun and Double Dragon II: The Revenge with controls that reverse based on the side that is being faced.
