Saori is a supporting character featured in Shodai Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun. She is a second year student at Senri Girls High School and is a member of the Osaka Alliance. Saori was someone who was originally very independent and would prefer doing things on her own, though she would join the Alliance after her school was attacked.
Background[]
Saori is first seen at the Osaka Alliance meeting in Shinsaibashi and introduces herself to Kunio. She alongside the others tell Kunio that they need his help in order to take on the Osaka Union. When Kunio asks Izawa about a plan, he states that they're planning on coordinating a synchronous attack across various locations as a way to weaken the Union and take them down. Discussing the location, Izawa mentions the rumors he heard of there being a connecting sewer between Shinsaibashi and Namba that's currently occupied by the Union, though Saori points out that they're currently unsure where the entrance is located. With Ōmi paired with Saori, she suggests to Kunio that he goes with Miho Yanagisawa through the sewer entrance in Umeda. When Kunio is handed a key to the Umeda sewers by Yoshihiro, Saori warns him that he'll need to be prepared to take on Hokuto.
Upon returning to the bridge after defeating Hokuto and rescuing Urabe from the sewers, Saori and Ōmi are seen running in to inform the group that their strategy has been leaked and that the Union led a surprise attack in Namba. With Izawa and Yoshihiro nowhere to be seen and Urabe confused on what to do, Ōmi suggests that heading to Namba would allow them to get more information, though Saori mentions that the station is covered by Union members. Urabe suggests going underground as he has a key, to which Saori thinks that with the key they'll be able to rescue both Izawa and Yoshihiro. When a police officer arrives at the bridge, Ōmi grabs him from behind while Saori tells the group to run as she kicks the officer. When the officer breaks out of Ōmi's grab, he punches Saori to the ground and knocks her out.
After Kunio rescues Saori and the other Alliance members from Namba's sewers, they return to Shinsaibashi with Saori asking him where the others are, to which he informs the group that Miho was kidnapped by Urabe. Saori asks why Urabe would kidnap her, where Kunio then explains that he was a spy for the Union. Saori then thinks that Miho's older brother Masaki Yanagisawa might know something about what happened and tells Kunio that he'd be in Ebisuchō.
Saori later appears alongside Izawa and Ōmi to assist Kunio in his fight against some Union members in the Tsūtenkaku Tower. Upon clearing the enemies, Saori asks Kunio to be careful before she leaves with the others to guard the entrance. She is later seen knocked out on the ground outside of the tower with the others after being attacked by Yoshihiro. During the ending of the game, Saori is seen with Izawa, Ōmi, and Masaki at the Osaka Port and tells Kunio that she thought he wasn't going to make it.
