Kunio-Kun Wiki

Sakata (さかた?) is a third year student at Hanazono High School that was first introduced in Riki Densetsu as an antagonist. He has poor fighting skills but is known for his lies and bluffs. Sakata was previously able to talk himself into becoming the banchō of his school, though his place would later be taken by Riki.

Appearances[]

Riki Densetsu[]

Riki Densetsu is a prequel to the events of Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun Special, a remake of the original Nekketsu Renegade Kunio-kun that acts as a reboot starting from a new continuity.

One day, two of Sakata's men would be seen bullying a fellow student until Riki intervened and beat the two up. These two bullies would go on to tell Sakata of their beating which enrages him as he orders his men to pick a fight with Riki on the following day. Outside of the school's entrance, Sakata orders his men to attack Riki and watches him take them all out. He continually runs away from the fight until he is chased down to the rooftop where Riki finally gets to fight against him and his subordinates. Upon being defeated, he attempts to partner up with Riki, though he is instead hit by an uppercut that knocks him to the ground. The bullying victim from the day prior witnesses the fight and labels Riki as Hanazono High School's new banchō and runs off to tell everyone else about the news. Wataru Sasaki would also witness the fight and become enamored by Riki's fighting prowess.

In the third chapter, Sakata is seen in Ikebukuro harassing a Nekketsu High School student while impersonating Riki. A group of Mushamonzen members arrive in search of Riki and attack Sakata as they believed he was the person they were looking for. When Riki arrives to confront the Mushamonzen goons, Sakata runs away after the fight.

River City: Tokyo Rumble[]

In the story mode, Sakata and Wataru show up outside of Nekketsu High School to beat up Hiroshi. Kunio and Misako walk outside of the school and immediately spot the two before they run off. Kunio has Misako take care of Hiroshi while he runs off to look for the two. Sakata is seen waiting outside of Ikebukuro's station and begins to fight Kunio once he arrives. Upon being defeated, Sakata tricks Kunio into believing that he and Wataru beat up Hiroshi under Riki's orders. Before leaving, he tells Kunio to take it up with Riki if he wants revenge. Sakata later listens in on Kunio and Riki's conversation in Kabukicho and starts to panic when Hiroshi showed up to try and explain what happened, though was relieved when Kunio decided that he still wanted to fight at the vacant lot in Ikebukuro anyway.

On the following day, Kunio and Riki's fight was about to start at the vacant lot, though they were interrupted by Ginjishi who would reveal Sakata and Wataru as his candidates for the boss of the Tokyo Crew of the Kanto Lion Alliance. Sakata has his eyes set on taking down Riki and attempts to fight him and Kunio. Upon being defeated, Ginjishi punches him and Wataru and deems them as useless. Sakata flees from the area before Riki is able to confront him about anything.

On a first run of the game, Sakata will later appear in Akihabara's electronics store impersonating Kinjishi. Sakata is seen attempting to con others into believing he's the real Kinjishi of the Kanto Lion Alliance so he can get everything in the store for free. Riki immediately recognizes Sakata and calls him out on his bluff, to which he attempts to keep the facade going and fights the protagonists in anger. Upon being defeated, Kunio demands Sakata that he tells them what he knows about the actual Kinjishi, though Sakata diverts their attention by claiming Shishiō has walked into the building and runs away. While running away from the protagonists, Sakata is accidentally ran over by Ginjishi on his motorcycle.

River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~[]

Sakata appears as a character unlocked from winning a game as Riki in free battle.

River City Saga: Three Kingdoms Next[]

Sakata plays the role of Meng Huo, the self proclaimed king of Nanzhong. He also acts as an impersonator of Jinhuan Sanjie (Kinjishi).

Prior to the events shown in the fourth chapter, Meng Huo is contacted by Sima Yi (Tobioka) and is ordered by him to cause a rebellion in Nanzhong in order to distract the Shu.

Meng Huo is first mentioned in the fourth chapter by Zhuge Liang (Misako) as they head into Nanzhong to deal with the ongoing rebellion against Shu. Meng Huo then introduces himself to the group and believes that its now his chance to get a huge reward from the Wei after noticing that the Shu had not brought down many troops just like he was told. Meng Huo then orders his men to fight the group with plans of taking over the Shu. Upon being defeated, the group taunts him for being so weak, though Meng Huo attempts to explain that he was only testing their strength and that he can get the strongest warriors in Nanzhong to gather at his call. Zhuge Liang is amused by the idea and lets Meng Huo go. Afterwards, Meng Huo talks to Dong Tu Na (Ukyō) and Ahui Nan (Sakyō) claiming that the Shu has come to attack them. He requests their help to drive them away, though the two are skeptical about the situation and believe that Meng Huo provoked the Shu himself. The two decide to head out anyway as they do not want outsiders invading their land, so Meng Huo happily shares their location to them. He is later seen marching towards the group under the guise of Jinhuan Sanjie, though the group see right through his disguise and begin to fight him. After being defeated, he makes his escape as Dong Tu Na and Ahui Nan arrive to fight the group. Shortly after, the group catches up with him during his escape and surround him to prevent him from going any further. Guan Yu taunts Meng Huo by asking him how he lost with the help of his friends, though he claims that he would've beaten them if he had gone all out and that his blond self is a legendary warrior who only comes out once every thousand years. Zhuge Liang lets him go and asks that he shows his full strength if he's to come at them once again.

While in Sanfeng, Ma Su (Mika) catches Meng Huo during his attempt at a stealth kill and brings him to Zhuge Liang. Guan Yu teases him over his cowardly behavior and how low the self proclaimed king is willing to go, though Meng Huo mentions that despite his title, the Nanzhong Lion Association are also in control of the place and that they don't show any mercy against outsiders. He attempts to offer the group information on each member of the Lion Association in exchange for being let go, though the group refuses his offer with Zhuge Liang setting him free anyway. Meng Huo makes one last offer to show the group the way to the Lion Association, though Zhuge Liang refuses and tells him to scurry off before she changes her mind. Following the first fight against King Duosi (Ginjishi), the group spot Meng Huo who had also been affected by the poison. King Duosi angrily asks what he's doing there and states that it was bold of him to show up after starting all of the trouble with the Shu. Meng Huo is shocked to see King Duosi and is ordered by him to reflect on his mistakes as he suffers the effects of his poison. Upon defeating King Duosi for the second time, Zhao Yun (Sugata) ties him and Meng Huo up and brings them to Zhuge Liang for questioning. After being handed a remedy for the poison, Meng Huo claims that he would've won if it weren't for the poison and that the group doesn't stand a chance against the next members of the Lion Association. Zhuge Liang lets him go once again and states that she'll be waiting for him to return with their next challenger. Shortly after this, Ma Dai (Tsuge) returns to inform Zhuge Liang that he saw Meng Huo heading in the direction of Dianchi.

In Qinzang, the group run into Zhurong (Benijishi) and are immediately enamored by her beauty. As she states that the Lion Association isn't looking for any outside rule, Meng Huo chimes in to compliment her ability of being unintimidated in the face of the Shu and refers to her as his lady. The group is then distraught that Zhurong is already taken by Meng Huo. He orders her to attack the group, though Zhurong demands him to be quiet and angrily asks why he's calling her his lady. She makes it clear to Meng Huo that once she's done taking out the Shu, he's next. Upon her defeat, she attempts to throw one last knife at Guan Yu though it misses and ends up hitting Meng Huo instead. Zhao Yun then captures the two and brings them to Zhuge Liang for questioning. She asks him if he has any excuses, in which he claims that Zhurong's throwing knife hitting him was the sole reason for his loss. Zhuge Liang lets him go once more and tells him to come back soon. Ma Dai then informs her that Meng Huo is headed back towards Dianchi. During the confrontation with King Mulu (Shishiō), Meng Huo stands behind King Mulu's forces as he attempts to intimidate the group and get them to leave Nanzhong. King Mulu demands him to stop his whining and makes it clear that he's next on their chopping block. Upon defeating King Mulu in the second fight against him, Meng Huo is caught in the crossfire of Zhuge Liang's finishing attack. He is taken back to Sanfeng for further questioning, though Zhuge Liang makes it faster than last time and lets him go without having him give much of an excuse.

Meng Huo is later captured by Wutugu (Majishi). The group spots him during their first fight against Wutugu, though they leave him behind as they make their retreat due to them being at a disadvantage. After starting a campfire at Zhuge Liang's request, the group unexpectedly lures out Wutugu who is looking to have some of the pork roast that's cooking. He contemplates on whether Meng Huo would taste good roasted as well. On the Hot-Blooded route where the group instead confronts Wutugu without weakening his powerful oil mask, Meng Huo assists him in his fight against them. Upon being defeated, the two are taken back to Zhuge Liang. Guan Yu asks if he had learnt his lesson yet, in which Meng Huo states that he has. Zhuge Liang mentions that they had defeated all the members of the Lion Association and asks him if he still wants to fight, though he states that he had enough and completely lost. After promising to not oppose the Shu, cause any rebellions, or to work with Wei again, Zhuge Liang orders him to gather the Lion Association in Dianchi so she can talk to them. During the conversation between the Shu and the Lion Association, Meng Huo interrupts and asks how anything that they discussed is supposed to benefit him. He proposes that a small percentage of the profits from trade would be given to him which angers King Duosi and King Mulu. Zhuge Liang plays along with his idea and suggests that they officially grant him the title as the king of Nanzhong. She explains that the king would be responsible for handling all the preparations and paperwork for the trade alongside any other handiwork needed claiming that the nation would respect him as king for doing so. He agrees, to which the rest of the Lion Alliance begin handing him chores in order to effectively have him serving as their errand boy.

In the fifth chapter, Meng Huo is able to be talked to in Dianchi as part of a sidequest. He claims that he had rode the Red Hare himself back in the day and would be happy to pass on the parts he used back then, though states that they'll cost him three thousand coins. After paying him, he tells Guan Yu that he can find the part hidden in Winding Serpent Valley. He is then seen waiting for Guan Yu at the specified location with a small group of bandits in order to get revenge against him. Upon being defeated, Meng Huo begs Guan Yu to take it easy on him and hands him the part for Red Hare and gives him his money back.
