Rika (りか), full name Rika Asano (あさの りか) is a second year student at Nekketsu High School who was featured in Downtown Nekketsu Baseball Monogatari: Yakyū de Shōbu da! Kunio-kun. She is the girlfriend of Tatsumi Tachibana and is described as being sickly. She was the previous manager of the school's baseball club.
Background[]
In the intro of the game, Rika and Tachibana are seen talking to each other outside. Tachibana informs her that he decided to quit baseball and disband Nekketsu's baseball club due to a shoulder injury that prevented him from playing in the Summer Koshien. Rika would be hospitalized from shock with Sanjūrō Sugata deciding to lead the club himself in an attempt to cheer her up and win her heart. Throughout the tournament, Ashino Kuniko replaces her as the team's manager.
During the ending of the game, Rika thanks Sugata, Haruka Nanase, and Kunio for helping her accomplish a dream she's had since she was young. Rika does not express any feelings for Sugata and stays with Tachibana.
