Principal (こうちょう) is the unnamed principal of Nekketsu High School that was first featured in Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun Special. He is described as being someone who chooses to watch over his students rather than showing anger as he places his trust in them despite there being many troublemakers within the school.

Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun Special[]
Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun Special is a remake of the original Nekketsu Renegade Kunio-kun and acts as a reboot starting from a new continuity.
In the story mode, the Principal is first seen during the beginning of the game talking to Madoka about the school's latest transfer student and about how he's a known delinquent. Sometime after, the Principal is seen talking to Kunio after a fight he had just gotten into with Yūya and a group of Hanazono High School students. He asks Kunio if he's still upset over being kicked out of previous school, though this angers Kunio as he jumps up onto the table and claims that he instead left his last school on his own terms. He ends the meeting by telling Kunio to not get into any fights or do anything that'd anger others. On the following day, a group of Hanazono students lead by Wataru Sasaki gather up on campus looking to fight Kunio. The Principal attempts to talk them into leaving with Madoka arriving to do the same. He asks Madoka to stand back, though she decides to stick around and attempts to ask Wataru what Kunio did to get them all riled up. She starts to get angry over his rude comments and is then knocked to the ground by him. The Principal is shocked by this and proceeds to witness Kunio step out and dash straight towards the park as a way to lure Wataru and the others off of school grounds.
Later, the Principal is seen talking to Madoka about how he's been starting to regret accepting Kunio into the school and is in disbelief that the Hanazono High School students would hit a teacher. Madoka then defends Kunio and insists that the Principal did not make a mistake accepting him. When Kunio walks into his office, the Principal asks him where he went, in which Kunio tells him that he ran away because he didn't want to get into a fight. In the second chapter, the Principal asks Kunio if he had gotten into an altercation with Hanazono, as Wataru came by the school the other day to apologize for what he did. He then asks Kunio to stay on friendly terms with the Hanazono students.
River City: Tokyo Rumble[]
The Principal appears outside of the Ueno Station and is able to be talked to.
River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~[]
The Principal appears as a character that is unlocked by winning ten rounds of Single Play on the hard difficulty. The Principal is able to use the Big Bang and the Double Lariat.
River City: Rival Showdown[]
The Principal is able to be talked to outside of Nekketsu High School during the evening of the second and third day. On the second day he will ask Kunio if he went to class and states that education is important. On the third day, he will ask Kunio how his lessons are going and will ask him to try and not get into any more fights.
In Riki's Story, the Principal is able to be seen outside of the arcade on the first day and upon being talked to will explain to Kunio a situation he witnessed of students hunting each other's uniform buttons. Kunio asks the Principal to tell him more about what happened as he believes it was Riki's doing.
