The Osaka Four Kings (大阪四天王?) is an antagonistic group that was featured in River City Renegade. The members are all apart of the Osaka Union and each control an area of Osaka with Hokuto ruling over Umeda, Wada over Namba, Masaki Yanagisawa over Ebisuchō, and Honda over the Osaka Port.

Background[]

Hokuto and her lackeys would first ambush Hiroshi and Kunio outside of Hotel Osaka after hearing about the alliance they formed. Nakazaki grabs Kunio from behind to prevent him from fighting back as Hiroshi is beaten to the ground by Hokuto's lackeys. Hokuto hears police sirens and calls out to her crew to flee the area. She is later fought inside of Umeda's sewers after recognizing Kunio from the previous day. Later in Namba, Kunio successfully defeats Urabe and his crew as Wada walks into the scene. Kunio attempts to attack him, though he blocks all of his punches and asks Kunio to join forces with him as he's become intrigued by the strength Nekketsu High School students seem to have. After being repeatedly declined, Wada gets angry and calls in his men to assist him in fighting Kunio. Wada is then beaten in the fight.

Masaki is later found in Koshien after Kunio was informed by his men that he was in the area. Kunio meets with Masaki to hand him a letter written by Izawa informing him of Miho Yanagisawa's kidnapping and requesting his help in taking down the Osaka Union. Masaki initially perceives Kunio as a threat after reading the letter and grabs him by the neck demanding for his identity. Kunio properly introduces himself and makes it clear that he's with the Osaka Alliance, to which Masaki lets go of him and begins to talk about the origins of the Union and how it devolved into it's current state. When asked why he chooses to still be apart of the Union, Masaki responds stating that his friends will be in danger if he defies the new leader. Now feeling motivated, Masaki decides to head out and rescue Miho himself despite the risks.

During this time, Kunio heads to Namba to supposedly confront Yoshihiro, though he instead walks into a trap setup by Wada. Waves of Union goons begin to attack Kunio as Wada walks back into the construction site. After clearing out the enemies, Wada and Hokuto step out and are accompanied by Urabe, Nakazaki, and Yasuyuki as they each seek to have a rematch against Kunio, though the five are defeated by him. Later at night, Masaki singlehandedly bruteforces his way through the Tsūtenkaku Tower during the Union's raid in Ebisuchō to confront Ogura. Masaki scolds Ogura for being power hungry and mentions the reason why they've joined the Union in the first place to him, though Ogura ignores his comments and continues to believe he's in the right for exploiting his newly found power. Masaki then notices Kunio's arrival and asks him to leave Ogura to him as the two get ready to fight each other. Masaki wins the fight against Ogura, though he is immediately shot by Yoshihiro afterwards. Kunio goes to check in on him, though Masaki insists that he'll be fine and asks Kunio to rescue Miho on his behalf. At the Osaka Port, Kunio faces off against Honda as the final obstacle between him and Yoshihiro.
