Street Basket: Ganbare Dunk Heroes?) is a basketball game for the Family Computer, both developed and published by Technōs Japan released on December 17, 1993. This is final Kunio-kun game for Family Computer. The Super Famicom would become mainstream during this era while the Family Computer software was beginning to go out of circulation permanently.

It was re-released for the Game Boy Advance on August 25, 2005 as the part of Kunio-kun Nekketsu Collection 1.

Overview[]

In this game, starring Kunio, Riki, Godai (from Downtown Nekketsu series) and Johnny (from Surprise! Nekketsu New Records! The Distant Gold Medal). Kunio wins a trip to the US after beating a quiz show, while Riki decides to follow suit by hitching a ride on the plane wheels with Godai tied up alongside him.

The player's home court is at Niagara Falls and players have their equipment improved after they win a game in "Story mode." The U.S. Navy even appear as an opponent in this game. Every game is two-on-two with baskets being able to be broken by shots and slam dunks. Other opponents include New York (a team of hip hop-obsessed boys), Florida (a team of researchers at the Space Center), Texas (a team of countryside boys), Hawaii (stereotypical surfer team), San Francisco (a team of very powerful bodybuilders), and Las Vegas (a team of magicians).

The player must defeat every team twice to see the ending in Story Mode, with every other match taking place in their home court. While CPU teams can switch their second team member, the first one (the "captain") remains fixed.

Opponents[]

Captains are marked in bold. The player team is named Nekketsu Dunk Heroes.

New York Kids[]

A team of street boys, they enjoy skateboarding and incorporate hip hop dance moves into their attacks. Their home court is placed above a subway station, which players can enter to exit out the other side or climb on top of to reach higher baskets.

U.S Navy Seals[]

A team of sailors from the U.S Navy. Their home court is set atop an aircraft carrier, and a conveyor belt brings items from outside into the playing field.

Texas Boys[]

A team of cowboys, they use lassos as weapons and cactus to act as a helmet for offense. Their home court is set inside a ranch in the Texas countryside, and players can climb on top of the horse to be kicked into the air and reach higher baskets.

Hawaii Fires[]

A team of native Hawaiians, they are capable of controlling and breathing fire and will frequently use it to harm opponents. Their home court is set on a resort, and players can jump on top of the parasols to be boosted high up into the air. Be careful as bumping into the Hawaii sign will knock you down.

San Francisco Roses[]

A team of bodybuilders who like to show off, even when attacking opponents, they are considered the slowest team of the game only making up with their strenght. Their home court is set inside a parking lot and players can use the cars to get launched upwards.

Las Vegas Gamblers[]

A team of magicians, they are named after common casino games and perform magic tricks to gain the upper hand. Their home court is set inside a casino, and scoring a basket will stop the slot machines next to the corners of the court, increasing the number of points gained depending on the symbols obtained.
