Appearances[]
Riki Densetsu[]
Riki Densetsu is a prequel to the events of Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun Special, a remake of the original Nekketsu Renegade Kunio-kun that acts as a reboot starting from a new continuity.
During the final chapter, Maezawa overhears a conversation Okada is having with his subordinates that he doesn't want him to know about. He steps in and demands Okada to tell him what he's hiding, to which he is then informed about his encounters with Riki. Maezawa believes that taking on Hanazono High School would make for a great fight and is suggested by Okada that they instill fear of the Mushamonzen into the school. He decides that he'll swing by and proceeds to beat up Okada for his failure. Sometime after this, Maezawa would confront Toyoizumi and have him pass a message along to Riki to meet him in Ikebukuro. He later meets Riki at a vacant lot in the area and briefly introduces himself before ordering his goons to attack him as a way to test if he's worth his time. Maezawa watches Riki clear out all of his men and decides to let him off for the time being, though vows to crush him in their next meeting.
Later in Yokosuka on the Blue Emperor's turf, Maezawa asks Shinji for help in taking out Riki, though he refuses and begins to walk away. He asks Shinji what his connection to Riki is and mentions that he had attacked him, though left it at that as he wasn't sure about what Riki's relation to Shinji was. When asked by Shinji if he realizes what will happen to him if he continues any further, Maezawa reveals that in order to take out Riki, he'll need to take out Shinji first as his men arrive to back him up. Shinji questions why he'd do such a thing, to which Maezawa claims that he would've let him go if he had cooperated with him. Shinji orders Mikoto to inform Riki and have him go into hiding as he singlehandedly fends off the Mushamonzen. After hearing the news, Riki arrives at the port to the sight of Shinji tired out from all of the fighting. Maezawa is surprised that Riki would come to see him on his own and orders his men to attack. After Riki clears out six waves of enemies, Maezawa appears annoyed by his persistence and decides to step in himself. The two initially fight one-on-one, though Maezawa begins to call in his men to back him up at various points throughout the fight. Upon being defeated, Maezawa is seen tired out as Riki forces him to apologize for what he's done. Maezawa gets down on his knees and pretends to apologize in an attempt to land a cheap blow, though Riki dodges the attack and proceeds to punch him into the water using his signature Mach Punch.
River City: Tokyo Rumble[]
After hearing that Okada has been beaten, Maezawa challenges the unnamed person who was originally challenged by Okada to a fight. Just as scared as before, they file another part-time job request in hopes that someone will fight Maezawa in their place. Upon meeting him at the vacant lot in Ikebukuro, he believes Kunio to be the one who fought Okada and begins to fight him. Upon being defeated, he will comment on how he may be getting too old for fighting and will then be unlocked for use in the Rumble and Dodgeball gamemode.
Maezawa also appears in Asakusa where he will mention that he's been sticking to regular biker gang things since the events of Riki Densetsu if talked to. He will later tell the player to play Riki Densetsu to find out more about him.
River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~[]
Maezawa appears alongside the Mushamonzen in the background of the Cross Country event. He additionally appears as a character unlocked from winning a game with Riki as the captain and Wataru Sasaki as the vice-captain in free battle. Maezawa is able to use the Mach Bash and the Mach FumiFumi.
