Shimizu (清水, しみず), full name Kōichi Shimizu (清水浩一, しみず こういち), is a third year student at Hanazono High School who was first featured in Downtown Nekketsu March: Super-Awesome Field Day!. He is vain and very focused on his appearance, with the sunglasses he's always seen wearing being a reflection of that.
Although he isn't a strong fighter himself, his threats are able to scare off his opponents. He comes from a supposedly rich family, so he's often seen hanging out at arcades with his underclassmen. He is upset with the gradually decreasing amount of arcades.[1]

Shimizu plays the role of Gan Ning, a violent and flamboyant general in Sun Quan (Riki)'s army.
In the story mode, Gan Ning first appears during Lu Su (Mami)'s side quest in the final chapter, where Lu Su will ask Guan Yu (Kunio) to spar with a batch of Sun Quan's generals. During the Battle of Red Cliffs, Gan Ning and Zhou Tai (Saotome) assist Guan Yu in his fight against Yue Jin (Mochizuki).
River City Girls 2[]
Shimizu appears when the protagonists are looking for someone strong to help them train so they can lift crates onto a ship for Hibari. The group run into Shimizu, where he introduces as apart of Riki's crew but isn't recognized by any of the others. Shimizu offers to help the protagonists train, though the group is skeptical whether he's actually strong or if he's just wide. Upon completing the training minigame, Shimizu compliments the group's strength and states that they've passed his expectations. He then sits back down to catch his breath and thanks the group for the competition.
River City Saga: Three Kingdoms Next[]
Shimizu retains his role as Gan Ning.
