Dr. D is the main antagonist of River City Ransom: Underground. He enlists Slick as his subordinate in a plan to create a large army of clones to use for their own evil ambitions.
Background[]
In the story mode, Dr. D is first seen inside of the Duplicannon Facility and is presumed by the protagonists to be the one responsible for everything. Chris vows that he won't get away with what he's done, though Dr. D laughs this off and states that he's already have. He explains to Chris that she was only able to escape because he planned on having the protagonists show up because they truly are the strongest fighters in the world and that he regrets he was unable to clone them at their true strength. He then leaves the room and sends his clones of the protagonists to attack the group.
Inside of the Cyro Lab, Dr. D comes out to fight the protagonists and appears disappointed that they've not realized they could harness their strength and use their XP to amass an army to take control of the world. Dr. D realizes the protagonists don't understand what he's talking about and begins to fight them without warning. Upon being defeated, he insults the protagonists for not wanting to rule the world and goes to initiate his final protocol. He starts the base's self destruction system and fights the protagonists again in the vault. Dr. D is defeated once again and the protagonists continue their escape of the underground base.
During the post-credits scene of the game, Dr. D's hand is seen breaking through the ground outside of the exit to River City.

- Dr. D's second fight is heavily inspired by the Contra series as confirmed by the game's director Bannon Rudis.[1]
