DOUBLE DRAGON & Kunio-kun Retro Brawler Bundle, known in Japan as the Kunio-kun: The World Classics Collection (くにおくん ザ・ワールド クラシックスコレクション), is a compilation of Famicom and NES games developed by Million Co., Ltd. and published by Arc System Works which include all the Kunio-kun games for the system, their localized versions, and the Double Dragon trilogy. It was announced in Japan on October 20, 2017 and was released for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on December 20, 2018. The international version would be announced on February 5, 2020 and released on February 20, 2020. Although a Steam version was announced, the game was instead distributed on DMM.com GAMES PC platform.[1]
Early copies of the Japanese release included a separate game, Hanazono Kōkō Dodgeball Bu, in which players get to play the Campaign and Club Activity modes with Riki's school and team.[2] Nintendo World Cup, the localized version of Nekketsu High School Dodgeball Club – Soccer Story was excluded from the collection as that version was developed and published by Nintendo.
All games featured in the collection were given online support, achievements, save states, and official translations for each of the Kunio-kun titles included. A "Quality Up" version was made available for each game excluding Nekketsu Renegade Kunio-kun and Surprise! Nekketsu New Records! The Distant Gold Medal which fixed flickering, slowdown, and other miscellaneous issues while also adjusting some of the game's balance. The original versions of the game were also made selectable.
