Blaire (ブレア ) is one of the bosses featured in River City Girls 2. They are the witch of Flatirons and is hired by the Sanwakai to cast spells on anyone they request. Blaire is voiced by Ryan Bartley in English and Madoka Yonezawa in the Japanese dub.
Background[]
Blaire's father was a stage magician while their mother was a fortune teller. They were taught everything they knew at a young age but would be hit by tragedy when their father took one of his tricks too far and ended up vanishing from their realm forever. From this point, Blaire was left to raise themselves and had no interest in being sent to an orphanage, so they set up shop in Flatirons to sell their potions and spells.
A few years prior to the main events of the game, Ken shows up to their shop and has Blaire put onto the Sanwaki's payroll with any of their expenses being covered as long as they made themselves available for any spells, readings, or incantations. Blaire would also be the one responsible for brainwashing Marian Kelly under the Sanwakai's request.
Blaire is first able to be directly mentioned in a side quest from Snap where he mentions that Blaire was responsible for forcing him and the others in the area to set up shop in the Skeleton Market after being banished in an inhumane manner. On-top of this, Blaire stuffed Snap's tarot cards into a t-shirt launcher and shot them across the woods. Blaire will later appear during their boss fight where they appear upset that the protagonists have entered their home and didn't understand the multiple clues they left while the protagonists were traversing the woods. When asked if they were responsible for casting a spell on Marian, they appear confused at first though upon being described states that they only did so because they were paid. Blaire questions how the protagonists knew about Marian being put under a spell and gets angry when they're told she was broken out of the spell by them.
Upon being defeated, Blaire tells the protagonists their backstory and states that they've been getting annoyed with the yakuza as of late and was thinking of breaking their deal with them. The protagonists ask for Blaire's assistance, but they make it clear that they have no interest in getting involved with clearing out the yakuza. Blaire hands the group their emblem and opens their shop to them.
Trivia[]
